Professional basketball scorer Spencer Dinwiddie is currently causing a stir as one of the top stars of the Brooklyn Nets. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons as the 38th player for the 2014 NBA draft. Dinwiddie also played for the Windy City Bulls, a subsidiary of the Chicago Bulls, in the G-League before signing with the Nets in 2016.

Spencer Dinwiddie Bio
Spencer Dinwiddie was born on April 6, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, to African-American parents Malcolm Dinwiddie and his wife Stephanie Dinwiddie. He grew up together with his brother Taylor Dinwiddie. His ethnic background is African-American, while his nationality is American. He began his basketball career with high school at the William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California.
During his high school career, Spencer played the position of Shooting Guard with DeAndre Daniels, who was also drafted into the NBA in 2014. As a junior, he averaged 4.1 assists and 5.9 points per game and during his senior year in 2011, he scored 11.2 points with 7.7 assists per game. He was one of the best passing players in Taft’s history and won the John R. Wooden California High School Player of the Year Award. His brilliant performance in his last season attracted the attention of top universities such as Oregon, Santa Clara, and Harvard. He received a three-star rating from Rivals.com and was ranked 25th best point guard and 146th player in the nation.
Dinwiddie chose the University of Colorado for his college career. A freshman in 2011, he made his first appearance for the Colorado Buffaloes when they beat the Fort Lewis Skyhawks. He made seven rebounds and seven points in that game. He teamed up with a freshman colleague, Askia Booker, and scored a total of 677 points. At the end of the season, he was honored by the Pac-12 Conference Team and made the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
In his second year, Dinwiddie made his breakthrough after the team’s top stars, Nate Tomlinson and Carlon Brown, joined the NBA Draft. He led the team to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the second year in a row and also won the 2012 Charleston Classic Invitational Tournament. At the end of the 2012/13 season, he led the team in scoring points, scoring 3.0 assists and 15.3 points per game. As a junior, Dinwiddie played 17 games for the Buffaloes, averaging 14.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. In their game against Washington, he suffered an ACL injury that kept him out for the rest of the season. In April 2014 he also signed up for the 2014 NBA Draft.
NBA Career And Stats
During the 2014 NBA draft, Spencer Dinwiddie made it to the second round. He was the 38th player to be drafted by the Detroit Pistons. After the draft, he signed a three-year contract with the Pistons to play with the Detroit Pistons. He made his first professional appearance on October 29, 2014, when he played just seven minutes from the bench and assisted once in the game. In his first two seasons, Dinwiddie shared his playing time between the Pistons and their G-League partner Grand Rapids Drive. He averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 assists per game in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons; he had 4.8 points and 1.8 assists per game.
At the end of the 2015/16 season, Spencer Dinwiddie was transferred to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Australian star Cameron Bairstow. The Bulls gave him up in October 2016. He then joined the Windy City Bulls of the NBA Development League, playing nine games for the Bulls with an average of 3.7 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 19.4 points per game.

In December 2016 he signed with the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association and made his debut in their game against the San Antonio Spurs. Although they lost the game with a record 112-107, Spencer had two assists, one rebound, and six points while playing 10 minutes from the bench. By the end of the season, he averaged 3.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 7.3 points per game. The following season he had 6.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 12.6 points per game. He won the Skills Challenge at the All-Star weekend in February 2018.
