50 Cent Bio, Age
50 Cent was born on July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York, in the difficult neighborhood of South Jamaica. His full birth name was Curtis James Jackson III and he was raised by a single mother, Sabrina Jackson, in South Jamaica. Jackson was introduced to a life of crime from an early age because his mother was a drug dealer. She died in a fire when he was only eight years old and he moved in with his grandmother.

Young Jackson began selling drugs himself at the age of 12 and bought his first gun at 15. He wanted to become a boxer, so he started fighting at the junior level. In his late teens, he had some skirmishes with the law and was arrested for drug possession and heroin, and the crack was found in his home during a raid. At the time, he was the neighborhood drug kingpin, earning up to $150,000 a month. He was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, but eventually went to a boot camp and did his GED.

50 Cent was presented to Jam Master Jay from Run-DMC. Jay liked what he saw of the young rapper and helped him produce an album that was never released. When he signed with the Columbia label, he recorded the album “Power of the Dollar”, but it was never released with the songs that were meant to showcase the confrontational style of the rapper. He was shot nine times, and in 2000 he suffered a serious shooting accident but recovered from his injuries.
Together with his friends Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, he formed a group called G-Unit. Their music caught the attention of Eminem and Dr. Dre, and they helped him produce his debut album. He began to diversify, he invested in the soda company Glacéau, and when the company was sold to Coca-Cola in 2007, it earned him $100 million after-tax. The birth of the Marquise helped Jackson to calm down a bit.
